Sexual Health

If you want to talk about your sexual health, be it preventing a pregnancy, avoiding sexually transmitted infection or talking about difficulties with sex such as impotence; we can hopefully help.

We offer a wide range of sexual health services from Emergency
contraception or "the morning after pill" (which suggests that the earlier it is taken the better and preferably with 72 hours, but we can do something up to 5 days after unprotected sex), Chlamydia screening ("pee in a pot" tests for 16-24 years old). We are able to initially manage sexually transmitted illnesses in collaboration with the local Genito urinary (GU) clinics.

Our sexual health services are discrete, confidential and open to anyone regardless of age (although there are certain checks we need to go through with under 16 year olds)

Sexual Health explained:

A range of sexual health services are offered at the surgery including:

  • contraception and contraception advice
  • emergency contraception and emergency contraception advice
  • testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), such as chlamydia, syphilis, gonorrhoea and genital warts
  • testing and counselling for HIV and AIDS

If you need advice and support with a sexual health matter or you think you have a problem you would like to discuss, please call the surgery to make an appointment.

Sexual health services are freely available for everyone.
